Sean Glumace has been a education advocate, graphic designer, comic book letterer and digital media instructor for over two decades. He is currently the K-14 Pathways – Statewide Technical Assistance Provider (TAP) under the Doing What MATTERS for Jobs and the Economy, California Community Colleges initiative and an Adobe Education Leader.
He has designed everything from in-store displays and signage for supermarkets such as Ralph’s, Whole Foods and Stater Brothers to e-commerce auction sites for an online consumer electronics company. He was a web and graphic designer then later an art director for McMullen Argus Publishing (Primedia), building and working on sites for Lowrider Magazine and Super Chevy, plus 30 other automotive magazines.
In the process of building wildly-successful websites, Sean seized the opportunity to teach other aspiring designers – a passion that took him first to Learning Tree University and then to Golden West College (GWC) in Huntington Beach, CA, where he has been an integral part of the renowned Digital Media department for more than 15 years. In 2013 he was nominated for the GWC Teacher of the Year Award while also joining the faculty at Concordia University teaching Web Design.
Adobe Education Leader
In May of 2014 he became one of the worldwide Adobe Education Leader‘s. AEL’s are dedicated to enhancing creativity and collaboration and improving the teaching and learning experience. They share their expertise through workshops and conferences and help develop standards-based curriculums that are used worldwide. He was also the Orange County CTE Digital Media Professional Learning Coordinator in 2014-15 helping create learning opportunities between K-12, community college and university educators in the OC.
Apple Teacher
Apple recognizes faculty member Sean Glumace as an Apple Teacher. Apple Teachers are recognized for their understanding of how to use Apple products for teaching and learning. They have proven knowledge of using iPad, Mac, and built-in apps to enhance productivity and inspire creativity in their classrooms and beyond. Apple honors their achievement and commitment to creating the very best learning experiences for students.
In 2007 Sean joined the Marketing and Creative Services department at GWC and redesigned the campus web site, designed new department sites, and the campus print and web catalog up until his departure in August of 2015 to become the K-14 Pathways – Statewide Technical Assistance Provider (TAP) under the Doing What MATTERS for Jobs and the Economy, California Community Colleges initiative along with his partner TAP Angela Allison.
From August of 2012 until July of 2015 he co-founded and became Chief Operating Officer of with long time creative partner Shannon Ingram. The mission of is to give Boomers a voice in the world of social proof and to be their trusted digital environment for learning, engagement and interaction with others in the 50+ population.
Throughout his teaching career, Sean has maintained a freelance business, designing for clients including the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards), lettering comic books for Image Comics, Darkhorse and many other companies around the world.
