South Bay Abrams Grocery Store Signage - Graphic Design
While working at South Bay Abrams in Huntington Beach, CA I designed and did prepress work for grocery store signage. Most of the major grocery chains were clients including Stater Bros., Ralphs, Vons, Safeway, Lucky as well as small stores throughout the United States.
I would design the signs in QuarkXpress or Adobe Illustrator, then print out black and white prints to create positive film for the printer which was in house. The signs used food safe inks printed on vinyl and were based on dies we had in stock that we would customize for the client. South Bay Abrams owned the rights to the removable number system for the signs, so most stores would order these signs for their produce, bakery, deli and meat departments.
The gallery below is just a small sample of the 1000’s of signs I created.
